About Liz Amini-Holmes
Liz lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her artist/writer husband Mark Holmes and their two children. A native of San Francisco, Liz graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and has taken courses at Stanford University and UC Berkeley in children's literature and book illustration. She has worked for numerous magazines, newspapers, book publishers and the children's publishing market. Liz has also has created artwork for a variety of industries such as multi-media, corporate, educational and game companies.
Liz's paintings have been exhibited at MTV corporate offices in New York and various cafes, bookstores and galleries in the SF Bay Area. She has been a featured artist in Digital Imaging Magazine and featured artist on PictureBook and SCWBI on-line.
She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, San Francisco Society of Illustrators and The Graphic Artist Guild.
Working primarily in acrylic paint on board, Liz has developed a highly personalized, evocative painting style. Her influences range from the Symbolist painter movement of the 19th century to Polish poster art. Expressionist literature also inspires her work.
